Insight on Laminate

European trends, such as slab doors with fun color or high gloss finishes have been catching on at a faster rate in the U.S. The contemporary, sleek design has a very expensive look and like many things… if it looks pricey you can bet your bottom dollar it is. Luckily we have some tips and tricks that can help you achieve that European flare for less cost.

A great alternative is laminate, a synthetic material that is placed over particleboard or MDF. It comes in different grades, high-pressure and low pressure. High-pressure laminate is of better quality. It is very durable and will hold up to heavy use of an average kitchen. It’s resistant to fading and holds color uniformly, meaning every cabinet will look exactly the same throughout. Laminate comes in a wide variety of colors and patterns. There’s something for everyone when it comes to laminate cabinetry!

The same holds true for countertops. Laminate countertops are wallet friendly and practical. Such counters first became popular in the 50s, standing up to the test of time and design laminate counters have a lot to offer homeowners for a fraction of the price compared to other materials. Think quartz, granite, wood, etc. Laminate countertops are custom cut to fit your space offering a cohesive, seamless look.

We offer a wide range of laminates at both our showroom and design center. For questions about how incorporate this material into your next project please stop by!
